Consists of a letter from Capt. Stephen Adams, Company A, 30th Virginia Battalion, CSA, requesting instructions regarding the possible enlistment of 17-year-old Rufus Parker of Kingsport, Tennessee. The letter is written from Bulls Gap, Tennessee; on the back are approval notes from Lt. Col. J. Lyle Clarke, Col. Augustus Forsberg, and Lt. Gen. James Longstreet.
